Snipe (Gallinago gallinago), an Amber Listed Species and on the UK Biodiversity Action Plan, are observed frequently in the wet rush pastures of Fields 3,4 and occasionally in Field 6. They are usually only seen here when disturbed and are almost certainly present at other times when we do not enter the fields to avoid disturbing ground nesting birds. They are usually seen as individuals or in small loose groups of 2-6 birds. The most we have seen at one time was 34 in February 2018 but only 5 in 2019.
