There is one Walnut (Juglans regia) planted, about the year 2000, near the barn at Downlee Lodge. Typical of Walnut this imposing tree has a very wide crown. The catkins and inconspicuous female flowers open in spring and are attractive to bees. The tree bears walnuts but we never get to eat them because they are taken by squirrels.
