The cattle seen on the wildlife site are of a variety of mixed commercial farming breeds. They are kept indoors during the winter but from April to September they play an important role in grazing the rushes and grasses in Fields 3, 4 and 6 to provide suitable habitat for wildlife that we wish to encourage to live and breed there. In the past a few rare breeds of White Park, Longhorn and Dexter Cattle have been included in the herd.
