Six Spot Burnet (Zygaena filipendulae) is a brightly coloured moth that flies on sunny days from June to August. The very similar Five Spot Burnet (Zygaena trifolii) is also seen here but I am not sure which sub-species. Both Five and Six Spot are particularly attracted to Field Scabious, Knapweed and Valerian wildflowers that grow near the footpath at the top of Fields 1 and 2.
